Creative Dance

• Class Fee: $18 per month
• Supply Fee: $30 costume fee

This class is designed to teach the basics of ballet, tap and creative movement. During the Ballet portion of the class, the emphasis will be on traditional ballet steps and body awareness. Proper form is developed as children learn ballet positions, gallops, skips, jumps, plies, tendus, relevés and more. During the 2nd half of the class we will work on Basic Tap techniques which teach awareness of beat, timing & rhythm. This Creative Movement class will include music and movement activities, games, and fun props, with a purpose of encouraging a love for dance and music.
•    No prior dance experience is necessary   
•     Students will be required to wear the following:
•    Girls - Pink leotard, pink tights, pink classical leather or canvas ballet shoes and black tap shoes. Optional: Dance skirt. Please keep tutus and "frilly" outfits to a minimum as they can be distracting and can inhibit proper movement.  No jewelry (small stud earrings are ok)
•    Please pull hair back off of face and shoulders.
•    Boys - White t-shirt, black shorts or sweat pants, black ballet shoes (or bare feet) and black tap shoes.
•    A costume costing approximately $30 will be required for the Evening of the Arts.
