Book Club I

Love to read? Love to listen to stories? Looking for something to get your child to enjoy reading? Try a book club! In this book club, we will do mostly group reading in the class, but some may need to be done at home. There will be a project or activity with each book, as well as LOTS of open discussion throughout each book. I want this to be a time for the children to grow in their love of reading, as well as their listening, speaking and thinking skills while we discuss the books in an open and relaxed setting. Books will be chosen based on the emergent reader level through early fluent reader, but that does not limit it to those levels...books and activities will generally be chosen based on the over-all class abilities.  If there is a need to make books easier or even more difficult as we get things going, that can and will be done. The first book will be picked prior to the first class, but students and parents will be invited to give suggestions for the remaining books for the year. After the first class, this class will be on an every other week schedule. Tuition has been adjusted to anticipate 2 classes canceled due to the age of Mrs. Preuss’ children and likeliness of sickness.
